Candlelights,
Closings, and Sendoffs
Candlelights
Want to rekindle that Emmaus feeling from
your Walk? Want to share the love of
God with persons you know and with some whom
you have never even met? Want to renew
friendships and make new friends?
Well, come to a
Candlelight then! Candlelights
are held on the Saturday evening of each
Emmaus Walk. Fellowship begins at 7:30
p.m. Candlelight services begin at
8:00 p.m. with announcements of upcoming
Emmaus, Chrysalis, and Kairos
events as well as other important Dallas
Emmaus Community information. Then the
fun and worship begins – with songs of
praise and worship, Holy Communion service,
and more. Please come and join us!

Closings
Attend a Closing and be blessed by the
testimonies of the newest members of the
Dallas Emmaus Community. Closings are
held on the Sunday afternoon of each
Walk. Sponsors should arrive by
4:15 p.m. to retrieve their pilgrims’
luggage, bedding, etc. Closing
services usually start at around 4:45 p.m.

Sendoffs
Last, but actually first, are
Sendoffs. The kickoff for the Walk
weekend is Sendoff for the Pilgrims.
After enjoying a potluck dinner, the
Pilgrims head off to begin their Walk
experience. The Sponsors and all
members of the Dallas Emmaus Community are
invited to participate in Sponsors’
Hour. The potluck dinner starts at
about 6:30 p.m. Sponsors’ Hour starts
at approximately 7:30 p.m.
