What exactly is the Metro Committee?
The Metro Committee serves "behind the scenes"
by helping to manage Emmaus functions in a wide variety of areas.
It is a grouping of many sub-committees that play different roles in our community:
- Gatherings/Training Events
- Literature/Packets
- Music/Weekend Events
- Registration
- Secretary/Communications
- Trailer setup/take down
- Women's Team Selection
- Men's Team Selection
The Metro Committee meets together as a group on a quarterly basis, with individual sub-committees meeting as needed to accomplish their work. As you can see, there are a lot of things being done behind the scenes that you may not have ever known how they took place.
As Christian Action is a key concept stressed throughout the walk as well as throughout scripture, the Metro Committee can be an area where you can serve, not for credit or glory, but to help others without any recognition but with an open heart.
As it says in 1 Peter 4:10:
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.
